History: Girls’ High School Rugby 15s Champions

The official name has changed many, many times, but the following tracks the history of girls’ high school rugby 15s champions dating back to 2000. The tournament has always been an invitational but it is recognized as the top 15s competition in the country and the only one that regularly features multiple state and regional champions.

From 2000-15, all high school teams competed together and named a single national champion. USA Rugby sponsored the championship for a few years in the early 2010s but then backed away. In 2016, the competition split into single-school and club divisions – which mimics the separation seen in every other sport. These tournaments also feature Division II or Middle School brackets, and they support the festival feel of the events. The following are the Division I champions for the now-named Girls’ High School National Tournament and Girls’ High School Club National Tournament.
