The DI Elite, DI Spring and DII Spring college playoffs begin this Friday, April 20, and at the risk of publishing an errant match-up, here’s a link to the unofficial brackets. The Rugby Breakdown has pieced together these brackets thanks to various coaches forwarding competition packets issues by USA Rugby. We’ve been deferring to USA Rugby, which is in charge of publishing the official brackets, but TRB is compelled to publish SOMETHING to at least acknowledge that these games are occuring.
See the unofficial brackets here. The only question mark is the DII spring match-ups occurring at the East Carolina. TRB knows the four teams attending and assumed that Capital #1 George Washington would play the at-large team (Salisbury, which defeated Carolinas #2 College of Charleston for the berth), and Carolinas #1 UNC Charlotte would play Capital #2 Catholic University.
LIVE-STREAMING
The BYU site kicks off Friday-Saturday, and the three other sites will compete Saturday-Sunday. The BYU vs. Arizona State will be live-streaming from this link, but the UC Davis vs. Grand Canyon game will not feature on the same service (cost). Stanford typically live-streams all games from its Facebook page, and Life University will show games on FloRugby.com (read more). No word yet on ECU games.
