Seven teams are heading to the National Development Academy (NDA) Tournament on June 16-17 at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center, home to the USA 7s Eagles. The fixture is a welcome addition to the domestic 7s calendar and a showcase for athletes aspiring to national team heights.

Armed Forces, Atavus, CCIG, Northeast Academy, Santa Barbara Academy, Stars and the Women’s Collegiate All-Americans (WCAAs) will compete in the two-day, round robin event. Combine testing will also be integrated into the tournament schedule and will provide a base line for USA Rugby staff like 7s coach Richie Walker and Women’s High Performance General Manager Emilie Bydwell.

This fixture is a direct pathway to the USA 7s program. Athletes will be evaluated for inclusion to the Rugby World Cup Sevens camp (July 2-6), the next set of NDA contracts (Sept. 3-Dec. 23), and/or resident contracts for the 2018-19 season.

The event won’t be live-streamed, but stay tuned for team rosters as they become available.
