The Life University 7s tournament occurs this weekend, and the eight-team event will feature talent from DI Elite programs, the Women’s Premier League, the USA Women’s National Team player pool, and the Colombia 7s national team. Both days will be live-streamed as well.

“The Colombian team was here in the fall visiting/shadowing coaches at Rugby ATL, the MLR team,” Life University head coach Ros Chou explained the connection. “The Director of Rugby Operations asked me to meet with them. Their coaching staff said they really wanted to spend about two weeks training and scrimmaging before their Olympic Qualifier the weekend of June 19. They asked if we were free in May, and I mentioned our tournament. They said they were all in! We are thrilled to be hosting a national team and know that this is very exciting for all of the teams in the tournament to get to play against them.”
Colombia headlines Pool B along with two DI Elite squads in Lindenwood Black and Life Green. The Feisty Viejas is the fourth team, and it is packed with Eagles, Life alumnae and current Atlanta Harlequins:
Kaitlyn Broughton
N’Keiah Butler
Bitsy Cairns
Karen Faget
Hannah Fallon Suka
Jesah Haun
Bridget Kahele
Cynthia Kelly
Karissa Lacy
Haley Langan
Darian Lovelace
Madison Ohmann
Shamira Robles
Megan Rom
Life Black, Lindenwood Gold, Penn State and Just Tanks comprise Pool A.
“We are also so excited to see fellow DI Elite competitors Lindenwood and Penn State,” Chou enthused. “Since we didn’t get a chance to see Penn State during the 15s season, we are grateful they agreed to come down and field a team in our tournament. We love the challenge they always present us.”
Just Tanks includes Life alumnae, Harlequins and some tight five players from Life’s JV squad.
“It’s going to be the team having the most fun on the weekend,” Chou closed.
