National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) is seeking a marketing manager ahead of the 2024-25 season. It’s a full-time contract position. Review the following job description and requirements, and then submit your cover letter and resumé to NCR CEO Wade Smith (wade@ncr.rugby) by July 29.

Overview

The Marketing Manager is responsible for implementing marketing communication programs that drive awareness of National Collegiate Rugby’s championship events, member programs and brand. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role works collaboratively across the management team, manages service providers, and builds strong relationships with sponsors. To be successful, the Marketing manager must have strong communication skills, utilize diverse marketing channels, and have strong project and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage cross-channel marketing campaigns that promote weekly rankings, play-off and championship cycles, all-star tournaments, All American programs, and Scholastic All-Americans.
  • Manage player and coach recognition programs, including nomination process and communication of recognized players, including distribution of awards.
  • Promote members (clubs, coaches and players) for their on-field success and off-field contributions to their community through our various communication channels.
  • Develop and/or edit copywriting required for print collateral and online communication channels.
  • Develop and/or edit media materials and press releases.
  • Oversee website maintenance using Webflow; add dynamic content and track website analytics.
  • Working with external agencies, maintain and grow existing social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • Develop high-impact marketing emails using HubSpot.
  • Maintain a consistent and unified brand strategy and architecture, and manage all brand and marketing assets in a central location.
  • Play a key role in sponsorship relationships and lead activation at events and across marketing channels.
  • Track effectiveness of marketing programs and provide regular marketing reports to NCR management/board.
  • Coordinate NCR apparel to be used by staff and available for sale at events.
  • Engage and manage marketing agencies and contractors that provide supplementary support (i.e., graphic design, collateral development, web development, etc.)‍

Professional Experience & Skills

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Superior stakeholder management skills and ability to broker support and collaboration in a membership environment.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive experience in a marketing role.
  • Familiarity with the sport of rugby.

The position is a full-time contract role which will provide compensation and associated travel expenses.
