Day one of the North American International (NAI) 7s has ended, and the three of the four girls’ divisions will contest another round of pool play Saturday before knockouts begin.

There are four teams in the girls’ U14 division, and the winner will be named after teams play each other twice. Land Park currently leads the standings at 2-0-1, tying its opening match against Genesis 19-19 before defeating the Celtic Barbarians (2-1) and Little Lady Wasps. South Bay (3-1) currently leads the girls’ U16 division, having played all four round robin matches Friday. The rest of the five-team field will play its fourth game Saturday morning, and if Land Park (3-0) beats the Arizona Bobcats, then the Harlequins will top the standings. South Bay and Land Park played a thrilling match that ended 19-14 in favor of the NorCal side. Click here for schedule and bracket details.

The U18 OPEN is the largest of the divisions and hosted two pools. In Pool A, Oregon’s Valley Panthers are 3-0 with convincing wins over the Utah Lions, Montana Vigilantes and Rio Grande. In Pool B, the Mambas are undefeated and kicked off the day with a two-point win against Canada’s Upright Rugby. The competition moves into quarterfinals – Pool A #1 vs. Pool B #4, etc. – for Saturday. Click here for schedule and bracket details.

Atlantis leads the girls’ U18 ELITE, and those three wins were tough. The select side took single-digit wins over the local Utah Lions and Idaho Grey Wolves, and defeated the Atavus All-Stars 26-20. Idaho and Atavus are both 2-1, but the former sits in second in the standings due to a larger point differential. It’s a six-team round robin, so the field will play two more games Saturday before a final match for place. Click here for standings and tomorrow’s schedule.
