“We are honored to partner with the Chicago Blaze Rugby Club as this year’s host,” USA Club Rugby XVs Competition Chair David McPhail enthused. “The Blaze Rugby Complex represents the gold standard for club-owned rugby facilities in the United States and provides an outstanding setting for our premier XVs National Championships. This event brings together the very best of senior club rugby, and we are excited to showcase elite competition, strong community support, and the continued growth of the club game on a national stage.”
The Chicago Blaze Rugby Complex (13011 West Smith Rd., Lemont, Ill.) is a trusted host for USA Club Rugby, serving as the event site for numerous club and college championships and Super Regional playoffs. The facility itself includes four grass pitches, a dedicated clubhouse and a full-service bar. On May 15-17, it will host 20 teams across five men’s and women’s divisions, all of which will contest semifinals and a final (there are no 3rd place matches). All games are 80 minutes long.
On Friday, May 15, the men’s and women’s Division I competitions will contest their semifinals and then enjoy a day of rest on Saturday before naming national champions on Sunday. Men’s Divisions I and II, and Women’s Division II will hold their respective semifinals on Saturday, and then join their DI counterparts on Sunday for trophy day.
