St. Thomas University added men’s and women’s rugby to its athletic department, and immediate interest has meant the program can start competing in Florida Rugby Union competitions in January. Gavin McLeavy is the head coach for both teams, and with his background in recruitment and Florida rugby, paired with the full support of the university, he is eying big gains for the Miami Gardens program.
