New for 2024, all participating teams will be invited to the Championship Event, however the top four (4) men’s teams from both Eastern and Western Conferences and the top eight (8) women’s teams based upon Series Points Earned to that point will compete in the ‘cup’ bracket at the Midwest 7s Championship in Elkhart, IN on Saturday, July 27, 2024. All teams not in the top four (4) per conference for the men’s competition or the top eight (8) in the women’s competition will play in a separate ‘plate’ competition at the event.
Implemented in 2023, the winner of the Midwest 7s Series will be the overall series winner as determined by the cumulative Series Points earned. This differs from 2012 – 2022 when the winner of the Championship Event was crowned the winner of the entire Series.
The cost of the 2024 Series is $1,450 (roughly $362 per Qualifier Event/ tournament). All participating teams must register with and pay the Union to enter in the four (4) Midwest 7s Series Rounds. Team registration will open on Monday, April 1, 2024, and remain open until Monday, June 4, 2024. Payment can be made via PayPal, Venmo, or check and must be received in full from all participating Clubs by Saturday, June 8, 2024, in order to be included in the tournaments. Payments made via PayPal or Venmo will be subject to a $50 processing fee.
The Series is open to one (1) side per Club unless that Club intends on registering an additional side for the series and that side operates independent from the primary side for the duration of the series. Separate additional sides may register for the Series at a rate of $1,250. Additional sides may enter single Tournament Events based upon availability by paying $350 directly to the Tournament Host. All additional sides MUST register with a tournament at least two (2) weeks prior to the Event and rosters must be kept independent from a Club’s primary team.
