Midwest Prioritizes the Un-Seen at U23 Nationals

The Midwest Thunderbirds have by far the most transparent and comprehensive feeder system of any of the teams that featured at the U23 national all-star 15s tournament. That structure makes the Thunderbirds more of a program rather than just a select side, and connects the U18 Baby Birds – who are very active – and senior side, which is a multi-year reigning Mary Graham All-Star 15s champion. On June 20-22 in Quincy, Mass., the U23s finished second to the Rocky Mountain Peaks (stay tuned for interview with captain Sayler Russell) after a thrilling 35-31 Tier 1 final . . .
