Rugby opens up in the summer, and Mona Tupou took advantage of the many playing opportunities that presented themselves this year. The 21-year-old from East Palo Alto, Calif., is young in the game but has packed the last couple of years with 7s, 15s, rugby league, all-star, age grade and national team experiences. Tupou is looking at the top tier of USA Rugby, and USA Rugby is looking right back.

Tupou is a basketball player and added rugby in 2021 when looking to break up the pandemic doldrums. The then-teenager linked up with the local EPA . . .
