MVP Simmons Drives Spartans’ Championship

San Jose State University (SJSU) Women's Rugby featured in its first College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) Division II 15s Championship and made good use of the debut. The Spartans beat UC Irvine 31-12 under the Heart Health Park lights, and MVP Ania Simmons played a huge role in the title run, and season.

 

Basketball was Simmon's first love. The Oak Grove, Calif., product picked up the sport in elementary school and played throughout high school at Pleasant Grove.
