USA Club Rugby is three weeks out from the 2025 7s national championships, which will occur Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 9-10 in Cottage Grove, Wis. The women’s bracket will include teams that won their respective regions and at-large teams with compelling résumés. Two days of action will occur on the grounds of the Madison United and Wisconsin Rugby Complex.

The following update is organized into the eight competitive regions and listed in alphabetical order. Notes on the qualified teams have been culled mostly from social media. But there are still a couple of qualifiers to contest this weekend (July 26), and once the eight regional champions are decided, then the full complement of at-large bids can also go out to interested teams. USA Club Rugby also explained that while a 16-team bracket is ideal, the number of teams will adjust to the interest and availability of teams. Read more.
MID-ATLANTIC
Reigning national champion Scion won the series and the region’s automatic berth to nationals. Phoenixville finished second in two of the three Mid-Atlantic qualifiers, and second in the standings overall, while Philadelphia finished third. Both White Horse and Philly have committed to their at-large berths to nationals. NOVA and Raleigh tied for fourth on the series.

MIDWEST
The Midwest does a great job of sharing information — competition details, current standings, etc. — and updates this page regularly. Chicago North Shore has won both of the Midwest qualifiers this summer and takes the top seed into the June 26 championship in Elkhart, Ind. The Chicago Lions, which put three teams onto the series this summer, have also looked strong. This Saturday’s results will seed teams into nationals.
NORTHEAST
Boston has been the stronger of the nationals-vying teams in this region, having won the Northeast’s two women’s qualifiers in Newport and Saratoga. The latter occurred last weekend, culminating in a 17-10 for Boston over New York. The region scheduled four qualifiers total, but the Long Island stop did not have a women’s division and the same appears true for this Saturday’s Old Blue 7s in New York.

PACIFIC NORTHWEST
The Oregon Sharks have qualified for nationals — check out their current fundraiser — and won two of the four PNW qualifiers this season, including the most recent Portland 7s tournament. Washington Athletic Club (WAC) also has summer hardware, and although the nationals regular has not publicly posted about a trip to Wisconsin, the expectation is that the Seattle-based squad will be in the mix.

PACIFIC SOUTH
The San Diego Surfers won the region, which banked two qualifiers in June, and also hosted its own tournament, Surf n Turf. Eagle Rock hosted the final qualifier last weekend, and NorCal’s Berkeley All Blues traveled south to win the event.
Northern California was not awarded an automatic qualifier berth to 7s nationals, so teams like the All Blues and Life West have traveled along the West Coast to get some qualifying matches in SoCal, Oregon and Washington. Berkeley has since announced its spot at nationals:

ROCKY MOUNTAIN
Participation is the issue in this region, but the Colorado Gray Wolves have partnered with Rocky Mountain Magic to form the “Magic Wolves.” The squad won the Game of Cones 7s qualifier on July 26 and booked its spot to nationals in Wisconsin.
SOUTH
The Atlanta 2.0 Selects took home top honors in the South and will take the automatic qualifier to Wisconsin. Runner-up Phoenix accepted an at-large bid as well.
