eagles.rugby – The USA Rugby Pathway feeds players into the USA U18, U20 and U23 junior national teams, and it has just released details on its Talent Identification Days, Regional Development Days and 2026 calendar of scouting tournaments. [lead photo: 2025 U18 territorials / Lindsay Eisenhart]
Mandatory Registration: Men’s Talent ID form • Women’s Talent ID form
There are two ways in which players can enter the USA Rugby Pathway: Attend a Talent ID Day (TID) and/or Regional Development Day (RDD); or participate in a talent ID tournament, i.e., an existing event that attracts high performing teams, individuals and scouts. USA Pathways selectors will be focusing on two age grades: U18s and U23s.
Mandatory Registration: Men’s Talent ID form • Women’s Talent ID form
The TIDs and RDDs begin on Feb. 22 (see schedule below) and hit major cities across the country. At the time of print, five of the 13 sites have not finalized their dates. TIDs are open entry, meaning that any eligible player is welcome to attend. These sessions are meant to identify new and upcoming players.
RDDs are invite-only events and feature players who have already been tabbed with national team potential. With that said, RDDs are often held in conjunction with TIDs, and thus players who perform well during the morning TID could receive an invite to remain on-site for the RDD session that follows.
