USAR Updates RTP Protocols

USA Rugby began enforcing Return to Play (RTP) guidelines on June 1, 2020, and updated those protocols on Aug. 28. Unions and teams still need to adhere to local health mandates before adopting USA Rugby’s guidelines, and then implement protocols that allow for a safe progression through five stages of play.

USA Rugby has implemented a new member registration system (Sportlomo) for the 2020-21 season, and it goes live Sept. 1. Teams and individuals must be properly registered in order to access the accident and liability insurance that is valid beginning in Stage 3 of Return to Play.

(Note: Many teams and individuals have reported glitches to the USA Rugby Sportlomo system while attempting to register on Sept. 1, so there is a temporary delay at the time of print.)

For more information, visit USA Rugby’s RTP home page or contact your HS State Governing Body (link), collegiate conference commissioner (link) or geographic union president or contact (link).
