The U.S. Women’s Rugby Foundation (USWRF) is holding its annual Women’s Rugby Coaches & Referees Association (WRCRA) Conference on Friday-Sunday, Jan. 16-18, 2026, in Denver. For the second-straight year, the event will take place at the Westin Downtown Denver and offer unparalleled education, insight and connection that has distinguished this yearly event since 2018. 2026 also welcomes the return of the women’s senior club AGM, which occurs on Friday, Jan. 16 from 1-3 p.m. MDT. WRCRA Conference Director Kerri Heffernan pitched the idea of a senior club AGM for the 2025 event, and the pilot proved useful in terms of connecting administration with members. What was more of a Q&A session in 2025 has evolved into a more structured meeting for 2026, and Heffernan indicated that the conference intends to host the AGM moving forward.
“The point is to bring senior women’s clubs representatives together every year to discuss mutually beneficial business, to meet with USA Rugby senior club officials, and to network/problem-solve on taking a larger role in the health of senior club rugby across the US,” Heffernan explained.
Heffernan has also been working with unions themselves to sponsor registrations. Rocky Mountain Union is offering one-day conference passes to a select number of high school and youth coaches. New England Rugby Football Union (NERFU) and Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union (EPRU) are paying for a handful of club coaches’ registrations, and Southern California Rugby Football Union (SCRFU) is sponsoring its DI and DII representatives’ entrance fees. Heffernan is encouraging those conversations with union administrators, because they are stepping up.
