The National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) played its first 15s season in fall 2015, and for the next five years, as the membership built out, like-strength teams competed in tiers. In 2021, the NCAA women’s rugby programs competed in the divisions to which their institutions belonged, and American International College (AIC) won that first official DII title. Memorable post-seasons have followed, including the most recent, which ended in the Yellow Jackets’ second DII trophy. [
