There wasn’t a ton of movement in the DII College Spring Ranking, as conferences are resting up before the Spring Round of 16 this weekend. However, two conferences named their respective representatives to the spring regional playoffs, and those results saw some teams fall off of the list.

The Carolinas had a one-round final four. Season-long leader University of South Carolina contested the Carolinas #1 seed against UNC Wilmington and won 96-0. That result forced UNCW out of the ranking. The Gamecocks will play Florida champion Eckerd this Saturday.

In the other seeding match, UNC Charlotte held off Coastal Carolina 24-15 for the berth to the spring regional championship, and will play South champ Kennesaw State on April 8. Both Carolinas reps are heading to Spartanburg, S.C., this weekend, as the site will host two pools of the spring Round of 16.

Kansas State will also be present in South Carolina as the Mid-America champion. The league was split into east and west pools, and the championship culminated in a one-day, three-team round robin. Kansas State bested Missouri 44-0 and then John Brown 60-12, both of which left the rankings. Kansas State will play Capital runner-up Mary Washington on Saturday.

The two Capital sides played some warm-up matches the previous two weeks, building toward its fall shape, and Davenport got some quality field time. The DII fall champion, who will play the DII spring champion for a national title, won Nash Bash and then finished runner-up to DI Michigan at the Wolverine 7s last weekend.

The rankings will refresh after this weekend, April 8-9, as the DII spring field will narrow down to four teams. Those semifinalists will convene at Stanford University (Palo Alto, Calif.) on April 22-23 for the DII Spring Championship, and then the victor will advance to the national final the weekend of May 6 at Life University (Marietta, Ga.).
