The Rugger’s Edge has expanded its offerings by focusing on an additional demographic: collegiate graduates transitioning into senior club rugby. Led by USA Eagle Laura Miller, Rugger Grads is a coaching program that helps college seniors make their next rugby-playing decisions – from level of play, to location, to how to makes those moves happen. “Many of our former Rugger’s Edge students are now graduating from college and have been asking us for advice on how to continue their rugby careers while also continuing with their professional careers,” Rugger’s Edge CEO Karen Fong Donoghue explained the genesis of Rugger Grads. “To so many of our college rugby players, the idea of playing senior-level rugby is either a) unknown or b) seems too difficult an obstacle to overcome.

“Second, for those who dream of playing for our National Team, they know that there is almost no financial gain and, therefore, many are forced to choose between following their rugby dreams or paying the bills. We want to change this reality,” Fong Donoghue continued. “Laura Miller, our newest advisor, came up with the idea of a program to help with this transition, which stemmed from her own National Team experience as well as her current professional path as a coach. I am excited to see how this program can help support our young ruggers as they embark on their next phase of life!”

“I am incredibly excited to be joining The Rugger’s Edge team,” Miller added. “We are working to build a program that will provide both insight and awareness to young athletes who want to take the next step in their rugby career. This program will help educate young athletes on the current rugby landscape and help them take the next step that is right for them.”

The pilot program will begin in January 2018, and participants in this inaugural group will receive the comprehensive service for free. The program agenda will help participants:

– Build awareness around the next steps in their rugby career;
