The Pacific Mountain Rugby Conference (PMRC) is taking a different approach to the post-season this year. The conference receives four berths to the USA Rugby Division I Spring Round of 16, and three of the conference’s representatives (seeds 2-4) will be determined April 7-8 at Stanford University.

There are 11 teams in the North and West divisions of the PMRC, and season-end standings will determine the post-season players. There are two caveats, however: The top team in the West will automatically receive the conference’s number one seed to the Spring Round of 16 (April 20-22); and a challenge match may occur for one of the seeding tournament spots.

By March 4, the fourth-ranked team in the PMRC West must declare its intention to challenge the North runner-up for a spot at the seeding tournament. If declared, then West #4 will travel to North #2 on March 24, and the victor will report to Stanford two weeks later.

Three of the four teams that report to Stanford University will advance to the regional playoffs on April 20-22 at to-be-disclosed locations. The fourth team, West #1, will not participate in the seeding tournament.
