The Women’s Premier League (WPL) has wrapped up its regular season and the national championship matches are now penciled in. Games will occur Friday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 28 at Life University in Marietta, Ga.

First up, the four title contenders. Blue Conference’s San Diego and Glendale had guaranteed their semifinal berths last weekend, so this final round was for seeding. The Surfers got their bonus-point win against ORSU, thereby securing first, and Glendale posted a 85-12 win over Chicago North Shore. The latter occurred in Glendale, just a couple of hours after day one of the HSBC USA Women 7s tournament ended.

Twin Cities also secured the top seed out of the Red Conference last weekend, and the second berth went to New York after its 24-15 win over Beantown in Boston.

The conferences’ 4th and 5th place teams will contest a play-in of sorts on Friday. Within that quartet, the winner with the larger point differential will compete in the 5th place game, and the winner with the smaller point differential will play for 7th. The two losers from Friday play for 9th.
