The Rocky Mountain Collegiate Rugby Conference has named its Division I Women’s All-Conference team. The First and Second teams include 15 players apiece from member teams: Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Montana State, New Mexico, Utah State, Utah Valley and Wyoming.
“The impetus is really about recognizing the hard work the players in our conference put forth, and, thus, increasing conference recognition,” Rocky Mountain Commissioner Ed McKenna explained the honorary team’s creation. “There are a lot of talented players in our conference, which continues to get stronger and grow.”
Coaches nominated players and then reviewed and supported all of the selections. The DI teams also did a good job of utilizing USA Rugby’s CMS during the season, and those records became a useful tool during the selection process.
At present, conference champion U.S. Air Force Academy is heading to the USA Rugby Division I College Fall Championship against Air Force.
