After naming its Tier 2 All-Americans last week, the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) has announced its Tier 1 All-Americans.
The First Team includes players from 2018 reigning champion Dartmouth College (5), runner-up Harvard University (4), Army West Point (3), Quinnipiac University (2) and Notre Dame College. The Crimson (2) and Falcons also have players on the Honorable Mention list, which also includes student-athletes from American International College, Brown University, Norwich University and West Chester University.
Seniors (12) and juniors (5) dominate the First Team and Honorable Mentions selections, while sophomores and freshmen account for three spots apiece. Cassidy Bargell (Harvard) and Emily Henrich (Dartmouth) are the only first-year on the First Team, and Brown’s Zyana Thomas is the freshman on the Honorable Mentions.
