Pennsylvania needed a longer runway in terms of returning to play post-covid, so last fall, the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union (EPRU) provided its Women’s Small College teams a thoughtful 7s circuit to encourage activity. But after a year’s worth of recruitment, more teams were able to return to 15s, the traditional version of the sport, and East Stroudsburg University (ESU) emerged as its 2022 champion. The EPRU leader now heads to Culpepper, Va., this weekend for the opening rounds of the National Collegiate Rugby 15s championships.
