American Rugby Pro Training Center (ARPTC) is hosting the first Falcon 7s Tournament this summer. The seven-a-side tournament is set to take place July 2-3 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Falcon 7s is a bright light in the midst of cancellations and postponements that have halted rugby seasons across the country and around the globe. ARPTC is moving forward with plans for this summer’s tournament that will bring high school girls together to compete for the Falcon 7s title.

Falcon 7s is designed for high school girls to play in a competitive tournament with a blended format. Day one of the tournament consists of pool play for two divisions. The “Top Flight” division is reserved for high performing high school teams to compete against each other. The “Club” division is meant for new and developing high school teams. After day one of pool play is complete, the top Club division teams will play against the bottom Top Flight teams on day two. This “Play In to Play Up” format allows teams in the lower Club division to test themselves against those in the higher Top Flight division.

MVP athletes from both the Top Flight and Club divisions will win a full ride scholarship to the 2020 ARPTC High School Residency Program. Details regarding ARPTC HS Residency can be found on the ARPTC website. MVP winners will have the opportunity to train with ARPTC coaches in a full-time environment, further developing their rugby skills.

Individual girls high school athletes not associated with a participating Falcon 7s tournament team may register to play with other independent athletes on a team to be coached by ARPTC coaches. Individual registration can also be found on the ARPTC website.
