Bowdoin 1st-Years Meet National Championship Demands

Bowdoin College won its third-straight National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) Division 3 National Championship, and this title run was particularly satisfying. After a big graduating class and in-season injuries, the younger classes were called upon to fill important roles, and they – the future – prevailed. [Photos: Lindsay Eisenhart]

Bowdoin graduated eight seniors after its 2021 title run, and then early in fall 2022, the team lost prop Cassie Allgeier and USA U23 standout Ella Slaby to injury. The roster soon featured eight freshmen and four sophomores – seven of them walk-ons.
