The Carolinas Geographic Union (GU) is bringing senior and collegiate all-star teams to the Los Angeles Invitational (LAI) 7s tournament on Feb. 28-29. The former will compete in the Women’s Open and the later in the College Open.
After multiple tryouts, senior head coach Chris Ralston of Columbia selected 12 players from eight clubs: Augusta, Charleston, Charlotte, Columbia, Eno River, Raleigh, Savannah and Southern Pines. Coastal Carolina University (5) and College of Charleston (4) comprise the majority of the collegiate team, while Western Carolina, UNC Charlotte and UNC Greensboro sent one player apiece. Paul Truluck (Charleston) and Emily Pelletier (College of Charleston) serve as head coach and assistant coach, respectively.
