Cianci 7s Crowns 3 Champions

PRESS RELEASE (Providence, R.I.)—Providence Rugby Football Club (PRFC) held the Cianci 7s, an annual collegiate rugby tournament, which achieved the highest attendance from colleges across New England to date. Cianci 7s offers several competition brackets for men’s and women’s teams: women’s, men’s competitive, and men’s social. This year the competition hosted 11 women’s teams along with seven men’s competitive and nine men’s social for a total of 27 teams.

Winners of the tournament in 2023:

Women’s: Stony Brook University
Men’s Competitive: Brown University
Men’s Social: Salve Regina University

“It was a blockbuster year for us as with the most teams signed up to play over previous years,” said Alex DeMasi, PRFC Tournament Director and Providence Women’s Rugby Football Club front row. “In 2024 we hope to grow those numbers even further and to include a women’s social bracket. Mark your calendars for next fall!”
