College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) has announced details for its 2025 Championship Weekend, which will take place Friday-Sunday, May 2-4 at the Kuntz Memorial Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. The three-day event, which is held in partnership with Riverside Sports Properties, will determine men’s 15s and women’s 7s titles. [Photo: Alex Ho @hoiho_photo]

The CRAA men will name DIA and DIAA national champions, and also contest the DIA Challenger’s Cup and DIAA Bowl Championship. The women will hold the CRAA Premier 7s National Championship and the newly named Club College 7s National Championship. The former involves NCAA varsity and DIA programs, while the latter involves, presumably, DI and DII non-varsity teams.
“We are excited to bring the 2025 Championship Weekend to the new rugby purpose-built facility at Kuntz Memorial Stadium,” said Paul Santinelli, Executive Director of CRAA. “This venue, in collaboration with Riverside Sports Properties, the City of Indianapolis and the Indiana Sports Corp, will provide the perfect setting to showcase the pinnacle of collegiate rugby and celebrate the achievements of our student-athletes.”
Located in Indianapolis, Kuntz Memorial Stadium is undergoing a major renovation to and set to launch a premier rugby facility, offering state-of-the-art amenities and a fan-friendly atmosphere. The new rugby purpose-built facility is adding 8,000 seats, a public plaza, improved lighting, an enhanced facility and field improvements. CRAA’s partnership with Riverside Sports Properties ensures a first-class experience for players, coaches, and supporters.
“Kuntz Stadium represents a tremendous opportunity to serve the Midwest rugby community and establish a true home for college rugby in the heartland of America,” said Paul Keeler, president of CRAA. “This facility will not only elevate the game but also foster a sense of pride and belonging for rugby players, fans, and future generations throughout the region.”
Omitted from the announcement are the CRAA women’s 15s championships, but they will occur on Saturday, April 19 at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. The lineup will include the women’s DIA (formerly DI Elite) national 15s championship, and the women’s DI and DII spring 15s championships. Traditionally, these games are contested the first weekend in May, but the earlier date does free up participants to attend the HSBC SVNS World Championship, which occurs May 3-4 in Los Angeles.
