The spring college regular season is nearing its end and playoffs loom. The DI Spring College Ranking made a couple of adjustments but the weekend’s results didn’t necessarily effect the playoff picture.

BYU wrapped up its Pacific Desert regular season with two more shutouts – 91-0 against Arizona and 63-0 against Arizona State. The Cougars have not conceded a single point all spring season. Alisa Baker, Hannah Beagley, Emily Briggs, Kayla Cooper, Kendelle Cragun, Baylie Duce, BreAnn Duce, Cierrah Garza, Matalasi Morrissette, Marion Morrow, Morgan Spangler, Rachel Strasdas, Tiana Tolman and Tayzlie Tripple were among the try-scorers. The Provo, Utah squad will take next weekend off before hosting DI Elite Central Washington University in a friendly.

Grand Canyon also ended its Pacific Desert league season with a back-to-back wins on the road. The Lopes beat UC San Diego 28-17 on Saturday and then UCLA 17-15 on Sunday.

There’s just one more league game (Cal vs. Chico State) in the Pacific Mountain West but the outcome is negligible in terms of post-season implications. West leader Stanford, Cal and UC Davis will all advance to the PMRC playoffs along with North victor Oregon. The Cardinal ended its regular season with a 39-30 win against the Wildcats, while Cal doubled up with a 58-5 win against Fresno State and 35-0 redemptive victory against the Aggies.

Of the idle teams – in terms of playing league matches – UCF traveled to the St. Patrick’s Tournament in Savannah, Ga., and posted three shutouts: 64-0 vs. VMI, 26-0 vs. USA South, 46-0 vs. Roanoke.
