The National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) will not hold a Division III competition for the 2020 season this fall. The announcement comes after all of the DIII member institutions and their respective conferences suspended fall competition for Covid-19.
NIRA DIII includes:
- Bowdoin College – New England Small College Athletic Conference
- Castleton University – Little East Conference
- Colby-Sawyer College – Great Northeast Athletic Conference
- Guilford College – Old Dominion Athletic Conference
- Manhattanville College – Skyline Conference
- New England College – New England Collegiate Conference
- Norwich University – Great Northeast Athletic Conference
- University of New England – Commonwealth Coast Conference
NIRA DIII athletic directors will convene in August to begin discussions on potential options for spring 2021. The majority of NIRA’s DI and DII members are also aligned with conferences that are suspending fall play, but NIRA has not made a sweeping decision for its DI and DII competitions yet.
