The Ohio Valley Women’s Collegiate Rugby Conference (OVWCRC) is the first National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) competition to publicly declare its intentions for the fall 2021 season. Sixteen member colleges in three divisions now know their conference schedules for the upcoming season.

There used to be two Ohio Valley conferences – one that oversaw small colleges and aligned with the now-named NCR, and one that oversaw DII schools and aligned with USA Rugby. Those two organizations have now merged under NCR, and the former DII teams will now compete in NCR’s Open Division.
The small college members are playing either 15s – and thus eligible for the NCR post-season, should it occur – or 7s, providing growth opportunities for young or developing programs. Open Division is playing 15s as well. The schedule also has vacancies for cross-divisional games and additional 7s tournaments.
NCR has not yet released details about the fall 15s championship season, but league games ending Nov. 6, Ohio Valley has room in its schedule to accommodate potential regional playoffs and beyond. Traditionally, NCR has held its 15s championship the first weekend in December.
