The Collegiate Rugby Championship (CRC) 7s returns to Boyds, Md., on Saturday-Sunday, April 25-26, and 64 women’s teams will battle toward four divisional titles. The automatic qualifier (AQ) portion of the season has ended, and Selection Saturday (7 p.m. ET) will fill in the brackets with at-large teams.
Each division features 16 teams. They are ranked 1-16 and placed into a Round of 16 bracket — as opposed to the traditional 7s tournament with pool play and knockouts. Winners of the Round of 16 filter into the Cup quarterfinals (top 8), and the losers into the Bowl quarterfinals (bottom 8). Teams end up with four games on the weekend and play out to place.
Two teams have won Premier Cup AQs: Three-time reigning Brown University and American International College (AIC). That means 14 at-large teams will named on Selection Saturday.
Half of the Division I-AA field has been named and currently features eight teams from seven states:
Arizona State Univ
Colorado State Univ
