Utah Youth Rugby inaugurated its 2020 fall 7s series last Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Regional Athletic Center in Salt Lake City. Player-registration issues had delayed the competition by a couple of weeks, but now five girls’ and five boys’ teams have supplied teams to the high school competition.

Reigning champion United opened up the day with a 12-10 win over Wasatch (video below) and then went on to beat the field 75-17 for a 4-0 finish. Wasatch only gave up another two tries en route to its 3-1 day and sits in second place with 13 standings points.
Provo hit .500, banking wins against Brighton (29-15) and Kearns/South Davis (29-5). Brighton exited the day with a 25-12 win over the combination team and seven standings points, and Kearns/South Davis will look for its first win of the season in round two.
