On Friday, USA Rugby’s CMS will populate with all of the team rosters competing at the Club 7s National Championship but TRB will post any squads we come across until then. Here’s New York, Scion and Rocky Mountain Magic so far.

The Washington Athletic Club (WAC) has named its squad heading to the USA Rugby Club 7s National Championship, which takes place Aug. 10-11 in Kansas City, Mo. The Seattle-based program will compete in Pool B against Scion, Rocky Mountain Magic and Santa Barbara Academy.

In mid-July, WAC captain Megan Sanders checked in with TRB and described a very athletic team that reached new heights under new head coach Pate Tuilevuka. Two weeks later, the team was in San Francisco for the Pacific North championship and did not disappoint in the ultra-competitive tournament. WAC did lose to Berkeley and Life West, but not by much, and the previous two weeks have no doubt helped the team ready for nationals.

The majority of the roster presented below was active in San Francisco, and five heading to Kansas City are returning from the 2018 squad (*). There isn’t an unfamiliar name on the roster but it’s worth noting Stefani Vicino-Bergerhouse, who is a year out of Chico State and is truly damaging with ball in hand.

But there are plenty of threats in the blue and grey kit. Sanders, Anne Peterson and Lauren Barber are among the important playmakers. Christa Banks is both a set-up person and finisher, while Jennine Detiveaux (Duncan) is the epitome of pace and power. Erica Legaspi is a TRB favorite, a fast, small player who is unencumbered by any disparity in size. WAC also has three great kicking options in Sanders, Peterson and Carly MacKinnon.

WAC plays Rocky Mountain Magic (11:40 a.m. CDT), Scion (2:20 p.m.) and Santa Barbara Academy (5:40 p.m.) during Saturday pool play. Games will be live-streamed on
