As is the trend this time of year: This weekend is a big one! Two separate girls’ high school 15s national tournaments – single-school and club – occur between Friday-Sunday. Both will live-stream on The Rugby Network. The Chesapeake league, Pennsylvania and SoCal are naming HS champions as well.
The Northern Super Regional Championship is the big event in USA Club Rugby and will name the final DII women’s semifinalist by Sunday afternoon. The Women’s Premier League is into Round 5 and the game of the weekend pits the standings-toppers against each other: Colorado Gray Wolves vs. Beantown.
In the (mostly) college realm, the Midwest U23 All-Star 15s championship is bringing eight select sides to Milwaukee (Wisconsin is the place to be this weekend!). It’s easily the best organized and valued U23 system in the country.
And Irene Gardner is in Langford, B.C., Canada with the USA Falcons, who are competing in the Next Gen 7s alongside two Maple Leafs teams and the PR 7s Loonies Development team.
