Placing matches

The top-four teams contending for the title, their competition is straight-forward: Friday’s winners play for first on Sunday and the losers play for third. There’s more nuance for the bottom-six teams. Beantown and Berkeley, which finished third in their respective conferences this season, contest a 5th-place semifinal, meaning the winner advances to the 5th-place match Sunday and the loser heads to the 7th-place match.

For those teams involved in the 5th place play-ins, the winner with the larger point differential advances to the 5th place match Sunday, and the winning team with the smaller point differential moves onto the 7th place match. The two losers contest the 9th place match and both are vulnerable to challenge matches from DI teams.
