WPL Leading Scorers: Week 8

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) Red Conference contested two single-digit decisions last weekend, while the Blue Conference saw its victors post big victories. Leading scorers included wings Sarah Levy (New York) and Kaelene Lundstrum (Twin Cities), who dotted down three tries apiece Sunday, while Glendale’s Hannah Stolba led the way off the tee with five conversions. Click here for the complete tally of WPL scorers.

When teams are tied in standings points, the first tie-breaker is win-loss record in the head-to-head games and then best point differential. In week 7, Berkeley and Glendale had 19 points, and the WPL standings listed the All Blues ahead of the Merlins (although Glendale won its game against Berkeley 46-21) so we kept that order intact (but are otherwise confused). San Diego and Berkeley split their games but the Surfers have the better point differential and thus listed first. For reference, the full list of tie-breakers in the standings:

  • Win-Loss record in the two head-to-head matches
  • Best point differential (Points For less Points Against)
  • Best try differential (Tries For less Tries Against)
  • Most points scored
  • Most tries scored
  • Toss of a coin
