The Greenwich High School girls’ rugby team won its first Rugby Connecticut 15s championship, defeating Aspetuck 21-19 in the state final. The 2022 title match is the first in which Greenwich has featured, and the Cardinals played against a team that had beaten it twice during the regular season. For those reasons, and many more concerning the fabric of the team itself, this year was a special one.
