The DI Elite National Championship is such an interesting match, because there’s a very long run-up to the final and little exposure to the teams beforehand. The last four title matches have featured Lindenwood University and Life University, and they craft independent schedules that start in September, wend through senior club competitions, and peak in late April. All of that is to say that the stakes of the DI Elite final are so high, and all of that intensity manifests itself in an incredible rugby game that is a welcome shock to the system.
