Madison United Rugby‘s facility is a familiar home to elite and high-profile events, and was most recently the site of the 2023 USA Club Rugby 7s National Championship in August. In addition to two full-sized, grass rugby pitches, there is a 7,000-sq.-ft., two-story clubhouse with a viewing deck overlooking both fields. The clubhouse includes a banquet hall with a bar and kitchen, as well as training facilities, locker rooms, referee rooms, and indoor and outdoor restrooms. There’s an outdoor pavilion with seating and bleacher seating for more than a thousand spectators.

2018 HS Club 15s Tournament in Tennessee

From 2000-15, there was a single high school 15s national tournament that intermixed club and single-school teams into one competition. In May 2016, the invitational split, sometimes playing at the same location, sometimes not, but always on the same weekend in May. 2018 was the last time the two tournaments shared a site in Tennessee.

Both competitions are still accepting applications for participation. The single-school event hosts an eight-team Division I with a traditional format: quarterfinals and semifinals on Saturday, and finals on Sunday. The tournament also fields a separate bracket for Division II and/or developmental teams. That competition format depends on the number of teams that participate.  Read more. The reigning champion is Divine Savior Holy Angels from Wisconsin.

The high school club tournament is a bit more flexible in terms of format. In the past, the competition has fielded one division and has not limited the number of participants. That has meant pool play and/or some creative formats before the placing matches, but TBD on how 2024 will come together. The middle school division has been suspended for 2024, but organizers hope to revive the age group’s championship in the near future. Follow @girlsclubrugbynationals on Instagram. The reigning champion is the Majestics from Utah.
