NEW YORK, NY – World Rugby and TEG Rugby Live today announced that the HSBC SVNS Series is returning to the New York area for the second successive year on March 13-14, 2027. The world’s premier rugby sevens competition will highlight the best men’s and women’s rugby teams, as they prepare for the LA28.
Taking off in Dubai in November 2026 and making stops in Cape Town, Singapore, Perth, and Vancouver, New York will serve as the grand finale of the regular-season competition. Tickets for HSBC SVNS New York will go on sale on Monday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. ET for presale tickets, and Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m. ET for general on-sale tickets. HSBC SVNS New York will be hosted at Sports Illustrated Stadium, home to Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls and 2025 NWSL Champions NJ/NY Gotham FC. As Sports Illustrated Stadium brings international rugby to New York, it will give fans the chance to witness thrilling moments from some of the best in the sport right now in a city that thrives off excitement.

Rugby sevens continues to showcase the sport’s fast-paced format, where teams field seven players in matches of two seven-minute halves on a full-sized rugby pitch. Through a combination of intensity, stamina, and strategy, the game continues to expand its audience year after year. During the 2025-26 season, the competition produced a record-breaking series, attracting more than 530,000 fans and breaking the single-day attendance record in Hong Kong. This season aims to continue to entice new fans to fall in love with the sport.
This series highlights the world’s top eight men’s and women’s teams, allowing them to showcase the talent, speed and skill needed to succeed in LA28. As the new tournament begins, New York City welcomes back the women’s and men’s 2025-26 champions, Australia and South Africa, giving them the opportunity to compete and defend their titles.
