Rugby Idaho will open up its girls’ high school club 15s season on Saturday, March 12, and culminate the first weekend of May with state championships. There are Division I and Division II competitions, with eight teams in the former, and four in the latter.
Capital, Centennial, Eagle, Idaho Falls, Meridian, Mountain View, Owyhee and Rocky Mountain comprise Division I. Teams will play each other once in the regular season, and the top-four teams will funnel into state semifinals and final placing matches. Consolation games will also be contested during finals weekend, May 5-7. The Mavericks are the reigning spring champions and Eagle is coming off an Idaho state 7s championship from the fall.
Division II includes Emmett, Middleton, Timberline and a combination squad with Mountain Home and Magic Valley. Teams will play each other twice during the regular season and then a single DII championship will be held.
