Life West and Beantown played their first games of the 2022 Women’s Premier League (WPL) rugby season at Pat Vincent Memorial Field in Moraga, Calif. The Gladiatrix had banked a forfeit win the weekend prior, but Saturday’s match was the home team’s first official run-out as a squad. The teams delivered a hard-hitting, lead-changing match that ended 17-10 in Life West’s favor. Beantown picked up the bonus point in the close loss.
