Are you a high schooler considering collegiate rugby? Want to learn more about the scouting process and student-athlete lifestyle from the people who are evaluating talent and building collegiate rosters? Then Rugby New Jersey’s annual College Fair & Combine on Sunday, Feb. 11 (Middletown, N.J.) is an excellent place to start and continue that process.
The combine is an athletic evaluation. Participants perform a series of tests and those stats provide a baseline image of the athlete to the scouts. Individuals must sign up for a specific time slot (9:300-11:45 a.m.), and there’s limited space, so it’s crucial to register today. The college fair is open from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and it’s a great space for students and their parents to interact with coaches, guidance and admission counselors from more than 100 rugby schools.
The event is geared toward 10th-11th grade rugby players; however, younger students, and especially parents, will gain valuable knowledge from the outing. It’s an opportunity to interact face-to-face with the people driving college rugby in the U.S.
Space is limited, so register today. There’s a $25 fee to attend and participants receive a Rugby New Jersey tech shirt. For more information, contact Rugby NJ President KJ Feury at kjfeury@optonline.net.
