The South Atlantic Rugby Conference (SARC) has named its U23 all-star team for this Saturday’s 15s exhibition match against Queens University of Charlotte. The select side program was created last year under the Carolinas Geographic Rugby Union (CGRU) umbrella and shifted to the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) conference this season. The 22-player roster evolved after a set of player ID camps in late August. Sixty collegians expressed interest in the 15s all-star team and will have the opportunity to join a spring-based tour, which is under development. Eight schools from North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia are represented, and they hail from NCR’s Division I, Division II and Small College competitions.

Joining Little on staff is head coach Katryna Ritter, attack coach Maddy Moyer, and backs coaches Leanne Hudson and Mel Cochrane. They will lead the player group during the Saturday, Sept. 9 trip to Charlotte, N.C., home to the NCAA Division I Royals. Queens has played one-and-a-half 15s match so far, defeating Navy 27-18 in a NIRA conference game last Saturday, and fielding a JV team against DII Lander University for 40 minutes.
