USA RUGBY — The four pools for Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 in England have been confirmed, setting the stage for the thrilling matchups in what promises to be the largest global celebration of women’s rugby, scheduled from August 22-September 27, 2025.
The draw put the USA in Pool A, alongside hosts England, Australia and Samoa. The match schedule will be revealed on October 22.
Prior to the draw, the 16 qualified teams were placed into four bands based on the World Rugby Women’s Rankings as of October 14 with the top four teams in Band 1 (England, Canada, New Zealand and France) pre-populated into the first position of each pool.
Teams will play each of their pool opponents over three weekends, and the top-two teams in each pool will advance to the quarterfinals.
Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Managing Director, Sarah Massey, said, “With anticipation building amongst fans and teams for next year’s showpiece event, today marks an important step forward to what will be an unmissable tournament.
“Next week will see the tournament celebrate another exciting milestone, as we unveil the match schedule, allowing fans, host locations and teams to start preparing their Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 experience in earnest.”
On the draw into Pool A, USA Head Coach Sione Fukofuka said, “It’s great to have the pools drawn and some clarity as to our opposition for the World Cup pool games. It’s a tough pool with the world number one team in England, WXV 2 winners Australia, and a very physical and skillful Samoa, but we are excited at the challenge and are confident in our ability to build on the foundations of 2024, keep developing our DNA and be in a position to progress through the pool games into the playoff rounds.”
