When it comes to rugby, Keia Mae Sagapolu characterized herself as a late bloomer and as someone who would rather follow than lead when it comes to team dynamics. But there’s no shame as the Tacoma, Wash., product shares these traits, because they haven’t limited her. Sagapolu won a Rugby Washington state championship in her first season with a first-year team, walked onto the Central Washington University varsity squad as a freshman, is a two-time MA Sorensen Award nominee, and as of July 2022, now part of the USA Rugby U23 National Team.
