Women’s Rugby Debuts at Maccabiah Games, USA Wins Silver

The Maccabiah Games began in 1932 and today it is the 3rd-largest sporting event in the world. Maccabi USA sent 1,400 Jewish athletes to the 21st quadrennial Games (July 14-24) in Israel, and for the first time ever, women’s rugby was part of the delegation. The USA earned the Silver Medal and for co-captain Ellie Fromstein, the team returned home with a lot more than hardware – momentum.
