GLENDALE, CO (August 17, 2021) – The USA Women’s XVs National Team have confirmed an away fixture against England on November 21 as one of four international matches in their Fall tour. Venue, KO time and broadcast info will be confirmed by the RFU over the coming weeks. Details for the remaining three test matches are currently being finalized and should be announced this month.
England and the United States women last met at Super Series 2019 where the Red Roses came away victorious. Since then, the Eagles have held 17 total weeks of a Daily Training Environment (DTEs), broken into three parts, alongside a comprehensive remote program to prepare for Rugby World Cup New Zealand in 2022.
This tour marks the Eagles first test matches since November of 2019. As COVID-19 affected every nation differently, some teams were able to play international fixtures and in full domestic leagues where others had to adapt in training. While the difference in competitive playing time is a significant challenge for the U.S., DTEs gave players and staff unprecedented time together to build cohesion and depth.

“I cannot describe our level of excitement as a group with the formal announcement of this game and the others to follow. Apart from the Eagles playing in the UK, and our two Stars vs Stripes games, none of our players have had the opportunity to play either domestically or internationally since November 2019. Our players cannot wait to represent the USA Rugby community on the world stage once more.
“Being in our Eagles bubble for many weeks at a time really allowed everyone as individuals to find their place within the team. I want to thank all of the players’ families, employers, collegiate programs and the Players Association for their combined support. Without this, we wouldn’t be able to attack the past 24 months as we have.
“We are very excited for the challenges that come with playing the No. 1 Team in the World at their home — as well as the remaining matches. While England have played 11 tests in the past two years, we’ve spent our time very wisely; refining our mental, physical and technical skills to bring our tactical wants and needs to fruition. We can’t wait to showcase our playing identity on the world stage.

Details for the USA’s remaining test matches are currently being finalized and approved by World Rugby for an official announcement later this month.
